Who We Are
At Ontario Christian Center, we believe in the whole counsel of God. It is the Word, the Holy Spirit, and the exercising of our faith that produces the Word of Faith message we live and teach. We are a ministry rooted in the Word. We use the Word of God to transform lives, furthering the Kingdom of God within the local ministry on a global scale.
(Ephesians 1:18; 1 Peter 1:3)
There are three main principles at work consistently here at OCC: love, power, and faith. These principles are the tools used to perfect the saints, bringing them to a higher level in the Word of God. Without love, faith will not work appropriately. Power comes from the anointing; being evidenced by signs and wonders. What you will see here always is the love of God, the lifestyle of faith, and the workings of power.
Love: leads to fellowship. It never fails!
Faith: leads to the working of the Word. We successfully overcome the world system.
Power: leads to signs, wonders, and manifestation of the promises.
Faith is our lifestyle. We are experiencing heaven on earth. We know that Jesus is Lord over the Church, and the Holy Spirit is Lord in the Church. It is this foundation which leads to a healthy, sanctified, set-free life in Jesus Christ.
We are soul winners. We teach souls. We send souls out to disciple others. With Jesus as our Lord and our Savior; the Holy Spirit – our guide, we are victorious overcomers helping all those who will receive the Word of God to overcome.
What We Believe and Teach
While vacationing on the beautiful Island of Kauai, Hawaii in 1984, the Spirit of the Lord spoke to Dr. Juan Williams, Sr. and told him that he had been chosen to birth a new ministry. God gave Dr. Williams a vision to launch forth in ministry as a Pastor and Teacher committed to “Setting Men Free through the Knowledge of Jesus Christ” (St. John 8:32; 36) and a mission to “Seek and Save that which is Lost globally by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Luke 19:10). In 1988 Dr. Williams, along with his wife, family, and 24 faithful warriors took a giant step of faith thus The Word of Life Ministry was birthed! God put a calling on his life and he received the calling in 1980. In 1984 the vision was spoken and birthed in 1988.
From the Hilton Hotel in Ontario, CA with 24 members, our ministry moved within 1 year to an industrial complex in South Ontario with over 150 members; and God expanded the ministry through outreach to over 200 members. For the first year while at the Hilton Hotel (1988-1989), we were a Foursquare denomination and eventually transitioned to a Word of Faith ministry. This transition was a key steppingstone in setting our ministry apart from other ministries in the surrounding areas as we grew to over 900 members. Following the Hilton, the industrial complex was our home for eight and one-half years, until it became necessary for further expansion. On Sunday, March 1, 1998 we joyfully held our first service in our present home, with a three plus acre facility in the heart of the Ontario community. As we moved forward in the spirit of excellence and the Word of Faith, we were blessed to expand our parking lot to accommodate the people who were coming. On July 27, 2003, the Lord gave us an addendum to our name. On that day, Ontario Christian Center (OCC)…Where Jesus is the Word of Life, was birthed. This name alteration would set us apart from the world and give us claim to the city of Ontario in California. In essence, we were like the children of Israel crossing over the water into a new beginning – all purposed by God.
We are an avenue to the nations… totaling over 4,500 members. We are all graced to be a part of a great work at OCC. The love of God is evident at Ontario Christian Center from the parking lot, to the front doors, and from the doors, to every single person sitting in a chair or working throughout the ministry. We truly have our Pastor’s heart at Ontario Christian Center and His heart is God’s love. We know ‘love never fails’ and ‘perfect love will always cast out fear’. The local outreach ministry has resulted in hundreds, of thousands of doors being knocked on and people visited utilizing a guideline on how to win souls to the Lord, personally developed and utilized by Dr. Juan (who himself has reached thousands in his 38 years of outreach ministry). Our Ninety Nine and One phone ministry has resulted in hundreds, of thousands of phone calls being made in a quest to win souls. By way of our foreign missions’ outreach ministry, we have touched the lives of those in Ethiopia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Kenya by sharing sound doctrine and the love of God – by the power of the Holy Spirit. In 2005 we started our food bank ministry (Bread of Life) which currently has fed over two-hundred-thousand people. We have aired on radio, television, and our media ministry is potentially reaching millions all over the world through our live stream. From the very beginning and continuing strong today, our transportation ministry releases vans for member pickup, on a weekly basis to and from services.
We have always walked in the practical ministry of outreach just as Jesus has called us to do. Therefore, our ministry has gone from 24 members to over four-thousand members. We have great things ahead; this is only the beginning!
